Since its foundation in 1974, PRENTEC has continued to grow from strength to strength. The manufacturing facilities were doubled in 1992, and the quality assurance procedures are accepted by all international industrial groups and mining houses.


Reservoir Construction

On completion of the earthworks a foundation ring is excavated and high tensile steel reinforced ring beam foundation is cast.

The reservoir is constructed by assembling and linking together reinforced precast concrete panel slabs such that a hoop stress on ring tension is created.  The precast components are placed on the foundation ring and linked together with interlocking steel pins.  At each joint between the panels, a column is cast in situ to form a water tight joint.

For closed type units the roof structure comprising of steel reinforced concrete shuttered collums supporting the Q type decking. This then forms an integral part of the shuttered steel reinforced concrete roof.

The steelmesh reinforced concrete surface beds are then cast in sections.

Sealing of the floor is carried out employing a bitumen/mastic substance.

All puddle flanges and steel attachments that are to be cast into the precast slabs during the manufacture of the panels at our works.

On completion of the reservoir the internal walls shall be provided with a Chemiprufe (or similar) paint system thus offering a clean hygienic finish.

-        Vent

The above cast in items and accessories are manufactured in mild steel and hot dip galvanised to SABS 763.

All flanges are drilled to BS 4504 Table 6 unless specifically requested.
